The wedge

Three things that turn prompts into assets.

The tracker is the way in. The point: your prompts become measurable, reusable, and worth keeping.

01 · Versioning

Every prompt, every revision, like code.

Save a prompt and PromptAware keeps the history. Compare versions with a clean diff, roll back, and reuse exactly what worked.

02 · Prediction

See the cost before you send.

Live token counts and a cost estimate as you type — with the expensive parts of a prompt highlighted in place.

03 · Savings

Watch what you’ve saved add up.

Trim costly patterns without losing quality, and track the savings as they accumulate, week over week.

The problem

AI work is scattered, and the cost is invisible.

If you use AI seriously, the tools are powerful but the workflow around them is messy. The expensive parts are hidden, and the useful parts keep slipping away.

  • Work spread across too many tools

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex — nothing connects the prompts you write across them.

  • Cost and limits are opaque

You usually find out what a prompt cost only after you’ve sent it, if at all.

  • Good prompts get lost

Your best prompt is buried somewhere in a chat thread you’ll never scroll back to.

  • The same prompts, rewritten

You retype slight variations of work you’ve already done, again and again.

  • No history of what worked

There’s no way to compare versions or see which change actually improved a result.

  • Rate limits at the worst time

They appear mid-flow, with no warning, exactly when you’re in the middle of something.

What PromptAware is

Not another dashboard. A workspace for prompts.

PromptAware sits quietly alongside the tools you already use and turns the prompts you write into something durable.

What it isn’t

  • A chatbot or another model to talk to
  • A replacement for Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
  • Just another usage dashboard

What it is

  • A calm desktop companion for AI work
  • A prompt memory layer that never forgets
  • A cost-intelligence layer for every prompt
  • A version-control layer for your prompts
“Your prompts should be treated like code: versioned, measured, improved, and reusable.”
How it works

Three steps, then it compounds.

The tracker is the way in. The value builds as your prompts turn into a measured, reusable library.

  1. 01

    Compose or capture a prompt

Write directly in PromptAware’s composer, or let it watch supported surfaces and pull prompts in as you work.

  2. 02

    Predict and understand token cost

PromptAware estimates the cost before you send, highlights the expensive parts, and shows what’s driving usage.

  3. 03

    Save, optimise and reuse

Prompts become versioned assets — with history, suggested improvements and a library you can reuse.

Supported tools

Works with the tools you already live in.

We’re honest about support levels. Some integrations are part of early access; others are planned. We’ll never imply something is live when it isn’t.

Anthropic and OpenAI API mode (opt-in) and a universal clipboard hotkey work across any tool today. Planned support means we intend to build it, not that it’s available yet — support level may vary by platform.

Privacy & trust

A quiet companion, not spyware.

PromptAware is designed to be a quiet companion, not spyware. Capture is opt-in, permissions are explicit, and unsupported tools are shown honestly.

Opt-in capture

Nothing is captured until you turn it on — and you decide that surface by surface.

Local-first by design

Your prompts live in an encrypted database on your Mac. There’s no cloud storage of your prompt content.

Reads only the prompt box

The browser helper never touches cookies or other pages — only the prompt field — and only talks to the local app.

Honest about support

Unsupported tools are shown plainly, with clear permissions. We don’t fake what isn’t there.

One-click purge

Delete everything PromptAware holds, instantly, whenever you want. It’s your data and your call.

No manipulative nudges

No dark patterns, no guilt-trips, no noise. A companion is supposed to be calm.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

What is PromptAware?
PromptAware is a macOS desktop companion that turns prompts into versioned, measurable assets. It counts tokens live, predicts the cost of a prompt before you send it, keeps a versioned library of your prompts, and surfaces ways to spend less without losing quality.
Is this a replacement for ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor?
No. PromptAware isn’t a chatbot or a model, and it doesn’t replace the tools you use. It sits quietly alongside them as a companion for the prompts you write.
Which tools will it support?
Early access focuses on a composer you write in directly, browser capture for claude.ai and chatgpt.com, optional Anthropic/OpenAI API mode, and a universal clipboard hotkey that works anywhere. Gemini, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity are planned. Support level may vary by platform.
Will PromptAware read all my prompts?
No. There’s no silent monitoring. Capture is opt-in and per-surface, the browser helper only ever reads the prompt box on supported sites (never your cookies or other pages), and your prompt content stays on your machine.
Is this for teams or individuals?
PromptAware is built for individuals first — your prompts, your cost, your library. Team features may come later, shaped by what early users actually need.
When will early access open?
We’re aiming to open a private beta to small batches during 2026, starting on macOS (Apple Silicon). Join the list and you’ll be among the first invited.
Will there be a free plan?
Pricing isn’t finalised yet. We’re exploring a free tier with an optional paid plan, and early-access members will help shape it — and hear first.
How is this different from a normal token counter?
A counter tells you a number after the fact. PromptAware predicts cost before you send, shows which parts of a prompt are expensive, and versions your prompts so improvements compound over time. The counter is the doorway; prompt version control and cost intelligence are the point.
